If you arrive in Crater Lake National Park before about early July, then expect to see snow. It may be a lot or it may be a little but snow will be seen. The only source for water in the lake is from the sky, either snow or rain. There is not an outside water source, that's not the sky, flowing into the lake. The water source is the main reason the lake maintains its beautiful blue color. Also, since the water has not been polluted from ground sources, it maintains its blue color.

Teddy Roosevelt signed legislation establishing Crater Lake as a National Park in 1902. It is the only national park in Oregon. The Oregon commemorative quarter features Crater Lake, the quarter is guaranteed to be worth at least twenty five cents forever.

Crater Lake Lodge
Even though Crater Lake National Park Lodge is reminiscent of the 1920's, do not expect a “roaring 20s” atmosphere. The only “Bonnie and Clyde” you could possibly see may be a couple from Topeka celebrating an anniversary. You can definitely expect magnificent architecture, a magnificent restaurant and a view of the Lake from the front porch that is way beyond magnificent.
